Starting at Tafelberg Rd, you immediately begin zig-zagging up the front of Table Mountain. After half an hour or so, the path flattens out somewhat as you approach The Saddle. The path then veers left and you will make your way up the back of Devil's Peak. This is the most strenous stretch but the breathtaking 360° views from the top are a just reward.
In the past Devil's Peak has also been known as; 'Herbert's Mount', 'Windberg', 'Duiwekop', 'Blase Baltch', 'Mont du Vent' and '//Hui !Gaeb'. The indegenous name means 'Place where clouds come together.'
